Counselling background and experience

My career in the field of health welfare and social care spans over almost 30 years working in hostels and various specialist settings supporting children and young people experiencing emotional, behavioral, trauma based and neuro diverse differences. After qualifying as a counsellor I was able to combine my knowledge and skills to set up a counselling service working systemically with multi- agencies to achieve a trauma approach. I was a member of a therapeutic multi discipline team providing support and intervention for SEN facilities within Plymouth. I also worked within counselling agencies in Plymouth and the South Hams area. In recent years I have used my experience to inform my work with children and young people, adults and couples from my own private practice. I am a qualified supervisor supporting other counsellors and professionals working in the care and support field.
